www.governmentjobs.comDeputy Chief Information OfficerThe Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) performs complex professional and administrative work under the direction of, and in concert with, the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and acts for the CIO in his/her absence. This position manages the operational plans and resources for Information Technology teams as assigned by the CIO and works with the CIO to define and implement the Information Technology Department’s vision, direction, and strategies. This position includes a particular focus on sustaining an efficient and responsive customer support function to meet the goals of the City's elected officials, and the operational mandates of the City Manager. This position requires managing rapid tactical response to issues with public safety and mission critical systems used for voice, data, networking, and citizen and staff communications and collaboration. The Deputy CIO will monitor the performance of IT vendors to ensure their work adheres to contracts and service agreements and is expected to establish working relationships with peers in other City departments, as well as in local and state agencies. The physical work is light, requiring considerable mental effort, efficient time management, and the ability to work well under pressure. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
