As we can see in this video , these patterns are mostly handled by women. I've observed it myself when living in a Huni Kuin community in 2023.

However, the community where I was didn't bake their own ceramic. So it's fascinating to see how they do it in this documentary.

Anyway, this is great news that the cultural heritage of the Huni Kuin peoples is finally recognised officially

I've been sick with the flu the past few days. I was too sick to get out of bed yesterday, but today I was able to get to the couch and drew up this colorwork pattern idea. I feel like it's missing something, but I'm not sure what yet. This is only the first 48 rows though so I'm sure it'll come to me. #knitting #colorwork #pattern #yarn #fairisle #design #knit

A white spiral notebook with a 48x48 square graph paper. It is showing the first page of the pattern. From right to left and bottom to top the patterns are; diagonal stripe, tile pattern, checkerboard pattern, and fish, followed by a series of smiley faces stacked on top of each other (happy, indifferent, shocked and excited) then, a partial chevron pattern, light heart in a dark square, dark heart in a light square and a flamingo on top. Patterns were drawn in pencil.

Second page of the pattern. Contains the other halves of the light heart in dark square and dark heart in light square with small unbound hearts floating up, then a helix pattern followed by a length- wise stripe of flowers. The last 2 columns complete the beginning geometric patterns from page 1. Also drawn in pencil.
