It still disgusts me beyond words every time I see the name Jennifer Johnson as a sitting UCP caucus member. The UCP MLA in Lacombe-Ponoka who said that allowing a few highly academic transgender students attend a public school is the same as adding a teaspoon of feces into a batch of cookies, insisting that doesn't matter how good their grades are, they're the same as poop because of their gender identity.

She was given a short "break" as a party member before being reinstated again after the outrage of her hateful words "died down". That was only in October, half a year ago, that she was brought back, and she never left her seat... she just sat as an independent, knowing she would rejoin the UCP caucus in time.

I have no words for this actual piece of shit. Or the Albertans who continue to vote for this hate shit.

Lacombe-Ponoka candidate Jennifer Johnson was speaking at a forum last September about the public school system versus homeschooling. In the recording, Johnson can be heard saying Alberta’s high test scores don’t matter because some students are transgender. “It does not matter that we're in the top three per cent of the world. Who cares if they got 89 per cent in Chemistry 30? Who cares that they're entering post-secondary — if they’re chemically castrated?” she said in the recording. Johnson went on to compare a handful of transgender students in the school system to mixing a teaspoon of feces into a batch of baked goods. “Enjoy (the cookies), | only put a teaspoon of poop in them, but it doesn't matter because it's only a teaspoon in the whole batch,” she is heard saying. “Same idea — we can be top three per cent, but that little bit of poop is what wrecks it.”

Mrs. Johnson is the owner and operator of a successful prairie fruit orchard, which has been in business since 2009, and was previously a registered nurse. Mrs. Johnson is extremely active in her community, and she has been a director for the Bentley Agricultural Society since 2008. She also served as the director and president of Canadian Cherry Producers Inc., chair of the Bentley and Area Multi-use Facility Building Society, and club leader for the Bentley 4-H Multiclub. Mrs. Johnson has received two awards from the Centre for Learning @ Home: family of the year (2022) and parent of distinction (2023). She has also published a children’s book titled Cherries — Just Right! She was born in Calgary, Alberta, and is married with four children. Mrs. Johnson graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of science in nursing. She enjoys spending time in her fruit orchard, listening to music and participating in agricultural advocacy.

OK one more thing - Carney raised an important topic:

"Yes, I think that this - an aspect of politics right now, the negative politics that we're seeing - it's becoming more difficult to recruit women as candidates, and really any candidate."

We need to really dwell on this. I hear often that really well-qualified candidates won't run because of the hatred and terrible vitriol.

We're doing this to ourselves and it comes from both sides of the aisle.

Another concerning note - Polievire claims he'd keep the French Radio-Canada and forgot to mention he'd preserve CBC as a whole.

Much of this debate was Quebec-centric and forgot that there are French-speaking Canadians outside of that province.

Carney - surprisingly strong, curious what French speakers thought about his French but the interpreters did well, my French isn't enough to keep up. He was level headed. It was clear other candidates saw him as the leading threat. The debate was clearly focused in his direction and he handled that well.

One candidate shone through as PM quality in my opinion. Though, my vote remains and doesn't align with the same party.

My thoughts on the French debate:

Blanchette appeared significantly weak, leaning into Quebec soverignty while trying to lean into federal advantages for trade. I often agree with his high level quips, I didn't today.

Polievire spouted his same slogans, verb the noun, shit sucks, blah blah. Same shit, different language.

Singh - balanced, challenged Carney appropriately, engaged in honest debate. Didn't claim enough time. Worthy of an exiting opposition leader.

I think the time has passed for us to point out their hypocrisy. We've been doing it about #MAGA for 10 years now. They revel in how it annoys us. They think we're cucks.

We know they're irrational. They don't care. They don't think like us. Get. In. The. Streets.

Pretty rich that Poilievre - the guy who has never held a job outside of politics, who wrote that “Politics should not be a lifelong career. Therefore, I would institute a limit of two terms for members of Parliament,” and then has spent over 20 years doing nothing else - would call Carney a “political grifter”

Controversial Proposal:

Canada should refuse all travellers from the USA at the border until the USA government restores adherance to its democratic constitution including due process.

Only asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants, would be admitted.

-- This would be one very strong way for Canada to use the few levers it has to influence the democratic process --

(note: the target here is American citizens entering as a visitor/tourism)
