Some of you have been wondering why MMS has been down for a few weeks. I was recently approved for Social Security Disability, which has strict income limits. Despite making little profit on MAP Merch Shop, and most profit being donated to MAP spaces, organizations, and those in need, a lot of money passes through my bank accounts, which puts it over those limits. Because of this, I need to divest myself of MAP Merch Shop.

This is not the end of MAP Merch Shop. MMS will be back. For more information, check out our press release:

Within hours of reopening MAP Merch Shop with our new payment processor... they have suspended our account. I am appealing, but I'm not too optimistic it'll do any good.

There are a small number of payment processors, and I imagine most of them aren't jumping at the chance to work with MAPs.

I started MAP Merch Shop, because I want to give people the opportunity to show Pride with physical MAP merchandise. I was never in it to make money... and honestly, I've lost money on this endeavor.

For the time being, I can still process certain payment methods through analog ordering. But that's not sustainable for me.

Part of my criteria for starting the business, is that everything has to be automated. I never even got it fully automated, due to accepting analog orders, Monero, and providing customer service. But it was automated enough that I didn't have to monitor the site daily. Now without an automated payment processor... I have to be involved with every transaction, and that's not sustainable.

So I ask the MAP Community:

Today, I got an email from one of my distributors, stating they have placed a few orders on hold due to content violations. I've started the appeals process, but I'm not holding out much hope.

In the meantime, I've put MAP Merch Shop in Maintenance Mode, while we evaluate our logistics and our plan going forward. MAP Merch Shop will likely be down for several days up to a month while we address the issues caused by our distributors.

MAP Merch Shop will be back.
