I spent a long time debating whether to even add a story to #PortalFoxesTD but now I'm wondering what characters people will like. So far I've got the best reactions to Aylin, but only two players got that far. Probably just sampling bias the character that only the most enthusiastic players have seen has had the best average reaction. My dad liked Gimble. I like Embra. One player really didn't like Embra, but I get why. Flawless characters don't make good stories. #gamedev

I've started collecting #VR #influencer contact info for sending out early access #SteamKeys of #PortalFoxesTD, and I do not understand this ecosystem. I see a cool looking channel and it'll have a thousand subscribers, but a channel with a ton of horrible BS will have a million. I'm trying to get a good mix of big and small and cast a wide net, so if you know anyone who might be interested let me know. #boostsappreciated
I might be able to cobble together xbox controller controls for #PortalFoxesTD, but they'd be pretty awkward. Alternately, I could not work on the game anymore at all. That's more in line with how I'm feeling right now.

This isn't a flaw. It's precisely why it's fun. The whole game is putting pieces on the board, and it needs to matter how you do that. Having the different effects multiply together guarantees the optimal solution will always involve a wide variety pieces. I've been trying to gradually push up the amount of optimization required to pass as the levels progress, but I seem to have overshot this time. Just gotta tweak some numbers, and playtest again tomorrow. #PortalFoxesTD
In #PortalFoxesTD if a firefox does 1 damage per tile, then if all 5 range hits that's 5. If you give it glasses and line up the increased range it's 7. Add a sword, 10.5. Add wind fox, 15, give the wind glasses, 18. Add an earth fox with a sword and its 36. That's why balancing these end-game levels is so difficult. I have to draw a hard line with the enemy health, but the difference between an okay strategy and a great strategy can be huge. #gamedev
