There's been a lot of commentary this week on the longer term effects of Trump's economic 'policies'.

Although written before his partial pause on some of his imposed tariffs, I stand by my overall conclusions on what Trump's actions are likely to prompt:

A focus on regional trade agreements (and blocs) excluding the USA;

A shift away from the dollar as the global reserve currency; and

a shortening of global supply chains.
