I was thinking of performers who have had a long career and I thought of Paul Simon. My parents had his album "Bridge over Troubled waters" in the 60s and he is still around today.

My husband was listening to the Bangles cover of "A hazy shade of winter".

And that reminded me of this video.

Today’s listening is ‘Paul Simon’, the 1972 (or 1971 if you lived in the Netherlands or Israel!) album by none other than Paul Simon.

You could look at this as being Paul’s first real solo album, as the album he had recorded in 1965 wasn’t released until many years later..

It’s a charming, mostly low-key album, comprising a mixture of styles, my favourite track probably being one of the best known ones “Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard’.

Better was to come though..
